The Romantic poet Lord Byron is one of Nottinghamshire’s best-known lords. As well as being an innovative writer he is also known around the world for his revolutionary activity and many lovers. His ancestral home was the magnificent Newstead Abbey and he lived there between 1808 and 1814.
