Find your competitive side at Langar Karting and Quad Centre

Myself and my colleague Alistair recently spent an afternoon at Langar Karting and Quad Centre to see what visitors can do, and test our own skills in a series of activities. Here’s what we both thought of it:

    Tom

I was really excited to be visiting Langar Karting and Quad Centre to have a go at a few of the activities they offer. Go-karting and archery are two I’ve tried before, with differing success, while quad biking and power turns were completely new to me!

I must confess I love any excuse to go go-karting – it’s great fun for a group of friends to do together. Upon arrival we were given

This weekend the Christmas Art & Food Market takes place at the Welbeck Estate in north Nottinghamshire. Emma Hall from Welbeck Bakehouse is our guest blogger today, for an insight into the festive treats they’ll be selling at the market this weekend.

    Halloween …Done!
    Bonfire night…Done!
    Christmas… 30 days and counting!

The changing colours of the English autumn have finally wound down and although it’s slightly sad, it brings the festivities of winter!  Let’s be honest – the mornings are crisper than ever and I’m sure we are all guilty of refusing to get out of bed of a morning because the house is too cold and burying ourselves deeper under layers and layers

Can our team manage the great escape at Nottingham’s Escapologic?

Some of our team recently paid a visit to one of Nottingham’s most exciting new attractions where the name of the game is simple – escape, or should we say Escapologic! This testing challenge of wits invites visitors to take on one of their rooms in an hour to see if they’re up to the challenge of escaping. How did they get on I hear you ask? Well here’s Claire to shed some light on the teams along with their highs and lows from the night.

It was a cold and wet autumn night when we arrived at Escapologic soaked to the skin. Simon, the owner and task master, was

Celebrate Christmas with a local delicacy

Christmas is just around the corner. Very soon Nottinghamshire’s town centres will be all hustle and bustle with Christmas shoppers. As well as gift buying, more excitingly it is the time of year when we stock the cupboards with all our favourite foods!

Throughout the festive party season, you can’t go wrong with offering your guests a traditional cheeseboard. And the ‘King’ cheese, as we all know, is Stilton. This traditional British blue is inextricably linked to the county. Due to its PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status, Stilton cheese can only be produced according to a strict code in the three counties of Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. Stop The Clock!

We have always known what a fabulous city Nottingham is; named as England’s least car
dependent city, with award winning bus services, a wonderful new tram system, fabulous shopping, and steeped in history, there is therefore no better place to undertake the Cryptology Detective Tour.

This is a self-guided clue-based mystery tour in and around Nottingham city centre, suitable for groups of up to 8 or for two groups to compete in opposite directions, where you will discover a different side of Nottingham. Answer riddles, solve puzzles, track locations and discover Nottingham’s secrets!

So that was the brief. Armed with our clues, myself and Annette excitedly ran to our first location

Birds, herds and beautiful scenery was the focus on my Wildlife Photography Course at Sherwood Hideaway

When I was asked to spend my weekend at Sherwood Hideaway to take part in wildlife activities available there, of course I was only too happy to oblige. It sounded like a wonderful experience and I could think of much worse ways to spend my weekend. Wildlife walks take place each Sunday at Sherwood Hideaway…
